Noun + preposition ( reason for, cause of etc.) Имя существительное + предлог

A: Существительное + for... a cheque  for (a sum of money): *  They sent me a cheque for $75.     Они послали мне чек на 75 долларов. a demand for... / a need for...: *  The firm closed down because there wasn't enough demand for its product.     Фильм был закрыт потому что не было спроса на эту продукцию. *  The demand for iron slackens.     Спрос на железо падает. *  There is a brisk demand for home computers.     Сейчас большой спрос на домашние компьютеры. *  Am I to take this excuse as a reason for your behaviour?     Должен ли я считать это извинением вашему поведению? a reason for...: * The train was late but nobody knew the reason for the delay.   (not "reason of")    Поезд опаздывал, но никто не знал причину задержки.

B: Существительное + of... an advantage/a disadvantage of...: * The advantage of living alone is that you can do what you like.    Преимущество одинокой жизни в том, что ты можешь делать    что ты хочешь. Но * There are many advantages in (or to) living alone.    В одинокой жизни много преимуществ. a cause of...: * Nobody knows what the cause of the explosion was.   Никто не знает по какой причине произошел взрыв. a photograph/a picture/a map/a plan/a drawing (etc.) of...: * She showed me some photographs of her family.    Она показале мне несколько фотографий своей семьи. * I had a map of the town, so I was able to find my way around.    У меня была карта города, поэтому  я мог ориентироваться.

C: Существительное + in... an increase/a decrease/a rise/a fall in (prices etc.): * There has been an increase in the number of road accident recently.    В последнее время отмечается увеличение числа дорожных аварий. * Last year was a bad year for company. There was a big fall in sales.   Последний год был непростым для компании. Отмечалось большое   падение спроса.

D: Существительное + to... damage to...: * The accident was my fault, so I had to pay for the damage to the other car.    Авария произошла по моей вине, поэтому мне пришлось платить    за повреждение других машин. an invitation to... (a party / a wedding etc.): * Did you get an invitation to the party?   Ты получил приглашение на вечеринку. a solution to ( a problem ) /    a key to ( a door ) / an answer to ( a question ) /   a reply to ( a letter ) / a reaction to...: * Do you think we'll find a solution to the problem?   (not "a solution of the  problem")   Ты думаешь, мы найдем решение проблемы? * I was surprised at her reaction to my suggestion.   Я был удивлен ее реакцией на мое предложение. an attitude to...(or towards...): *  His attitude to his job is very negative.    His attitude towards his job is very negative.    Его отношение к работе очень негативное.

E: Существительное + with... / between... a relationship / a connection / contact with... : * Do you have a good relationship with your parents?    У тебя хорошие отношения со своими родителями? * The police want to question a man in connection with the robbery.    Полиция хочет задать вопрос человеку в отношении кражи. но: a relationship / a connection / contact / a difference between * The police believe that there is no connection between the two crimes.    Полиция  полагает, что между двумя преступлениями нет связи. * There are some differences between British and American English.    Имеется некоторое различие  между британским и    американским английским.
